What mystery did God reveal to Paul?

A Mystery of God Revealed to Paul

Ephesians 3:1-6 King James Version (KJV)

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

The verse is from Paul's letter to the saints in Ephesus.

Pauls says that a mystery had been made known to him by direct revelation from God.

Note that Paul takes no credit for the revelation.

What was this "mystery"?

Verse 6 reveals that this "mystery" was the previously hidden truth that the Gentiles were not to be saved by a "salvation of their own"but were to enjoy the same salvation as the Jews i.e. that the Gentiles would be fellow members of the body of Christ.(1)

How wonderful and gracious is out Lord God!

Praise the Lord
