Christ the Light of the world


John 8:12(KJV)

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Comment
During these serious days of the coronavirus pandemic, we should remain ever mindful of what we have as Christians.
Among many uncountable blessings, we have:
  • Christ the Light of the world, to lead us.
  • God and His Word.
  • Christ and His Spirit.
  • The written teachings of the Apostles.
  • The coming of Christ as our hope.

At this time let us therefore "STAND FAST on the great foundational truths of the Gospel and HOLD FAST to all that we have without wavering, without swerve or bend".
Indeed it is of paramount importance that day by day we follow the leading of Christ "Our Kindly Light".
May we pray with John Henry Newman:
 Lead, kindly light, amid the encircling gloom,
lead thou me on;
the night is dark, and I am far from home;
lead thou me on.
Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see
the distant scene; one step enough for me.
